Our shop on SW 10th is now closed, but artfulgoods.com lives on…

February 2, 2011

Sadly we recently had to close our store on SW 10th in downtown Portland. We hope to reopen in a new location in the future, but in the meantime our online shop continues to hum along with a wide selection of artwork and unique merchandise. You can check it out at artfulgoods.com .

new line = new products!

September 30, 2010

hi all,

it might be a bit early, but we are starting to gear up for the holidays and have been getting lots of new goodies in at our store. today i wanted to highlight some limited edition plush/art dolls that we just got in.

the nonlife zoo series is an eco-friendly line of dolls created to bring awareness to animal preservation and remind us of our social responsibility to our environment. their cute and creepy faces are also there to remind us of the intricate balance of how cuddly and fun these animals can be, but also as a silent expression for help.

these dolls are so popular and the message so strong, that they even teamed up with and were featured in elle magazine!

the nonlife zoo series is great for kids, since they are fairly large with slightly bendable arms and legs, but make great accent pieces for the adult as well.

make sure to visit our online store to check out the these dolls and see what they are all about!

the “you name it” show!

September 1, 2010

we wanted to take a little time out to tell you about about a new show we will be exhibiting, featuring the work of local artist, gary hirsch.

gary is the founder of “on your feet“, a creative consultancy and a longtime fixture in the portland art scene. some of his work can even be seen in downtown portland, a permanent fixture on the 3rd and alder parking garage. his work is instantly recognizable by his colorful characters, monsters and quirky sense of style he lends to all his work.

starting sept. 10th, we’ll be showing gary’s work at the gallery. the “you name it” show is a fun and interactive exhibition where the viewer is invited to submit a title for an original piece of work. when that particular artwork is sold, the buyer is allowed to choose the official title from the submissions. if your title is chosen, you receive a t-shirt with that painting printed on it, along with your submitted title!

we’re very excited about having gary’s work here and looking forward to seeing what creative names viewers come up with! for more information on the show, check out gary’s website: www.doodlehouse.com or fell free to call or email the gallery. his work will be on display during our regular business hours, wed – sat from 11 am – 6pm.

new kikkerland!

July 9, 2010

hi all… we recently got some new stuff in from one of our favorite vendors, kikkerland! kikkerland always makes such practical and useful stuff, but always with a cool twist.

we got in these fun moire coasters that create an optical illusion. you can spin the tops around and everything goes swirly and zany!

also for your home, we got these fun and cute owl doormats. they are definitely a great way to welcome your guests, though it’s so cute you might not want to clean your dirty shoes off on them!

and for all you office type people (or those who just like to stay organized) we have these super practical chord organizers. they look like crocodiles, dogs and monkeys they will hold tight to all your wires so you can keep everything under your desk nice and tidy. and at only $5 each, how can you pass that up?

these are only a few of the new things we got in. make sure to check out our NEW section on our online store to see what else we got!

new items for summer!

July 1, 2010

summer is officially in full swing and we are loving the sunshine, though we’re still getting a few drizzlies here in portland. not a big deal though. we’ve been keeping busy here at the gallery with new items coming in all the time.  we’ve also re-stocked some popular items as well.

one of our most popular items were the mcups by fred and friends. these sold out incredibly fast when we had them last year and unfortunately, because they were soooo popular, it took a long time to get these back in! luckily, we were able to grab a few of them before they were completely out of stock again.

we also got the super adorable tigrito cat bowl back in by alessi. it’s really quite cute and it’s hard to resist the cuteness.

in addition to tigrito, we also got an equally adorable dog bowl in!

we have tons of other new stuff as well, so check back soon for an update on soem of the cool new things we ‘ve been getting in. also, as always, don’t forget to check out these items on our online store!

news and MORE new items!

April 24, 2010

hi all!

we’ve had lots of new stuff trickling into our shop and added a couple small, but great features on our online store.

first off, we know that a lot of people buy stuff from our shop as awesome gifts for other people. we have been called the go-to shop to buy that present for someone who “already has everything”. so after thinking about it for a while, we thought… how can we help those who are buying and shipping gifts to the people they love? GIFT WRAP! now you can request to have any item on our online store wrapped up into a pretty gift (so you don’t have to)! we’ve also added lots of cards on our site from some of our favorite companies such as fomato, seltzer goods and great arrow. you can add a card to any gift and even request a special message be included. how great is that?

while you’re in the store checking out the cards, definitely check out our ‘new arrivals’ section to see all the the brand new stuff we have in like this heart knife block:

these fun new pint glasses from gama-go:

or this clever word search clock:

(can you find the extra hidden words??)

these are just a couple of the new things we have. check out everything else we have HERE!
